New Mexico Orthopaedics sees nearly 1,000 patients per day – the highest daily volume of patients outside of the state’s hospitals. NMO focused on transforming the patient experience by re-envisioning the “office visit.” The design of the 68,000 sf build out is efficiently organized to emphasize intuitive wayfinding in support of the new patient workflow, capitalize on views and natural light and showcase the existing iconic structure. The design supports a healthy and friendly environment that inspires patients by highlighting the recovery process.
Design and construction to transform the vacant Winrock Mall was completed in 11 months. New Mexico Orthopaedics’ new space includes 78 exam rooms, 8 x-ray rooms, 2 procedure rooms, MRI suite, physical therapy, administrative area for all locations and NMO’s retail space “the Motion Shop.”
Beck Total Office Interiors partnered with Scout Design, an Albuquerque architectural and design firm, to develop a full furniture package for NM Orthopaedics’ new space. The team at Beck was included in project development from the early design phase, enabling us to share in the full design process and take ownership of a key element to realizing the end goal….specifying the best furniture package to successfully support the space and the owners vision.
Furniture specifications included product for 78 exam rooms, 100 work-stations and offices, an Executive Board Room and other conferencing/collaboration spaces, employee break and lounge areas, as well as patient seating areas to support up to 300 visitors.
